Occupation: Japanese soldier wounded when a tank ran over my legs.

I am a Japanese soldier who, after Pearl Harbor, entered Asia, taking over many cities and regions. During the first six months, we conquered Hong Kong, French Indochina, Malaya, Burma, Thailand, and the North Eastern portion of China. I fought mostly in China, but later I was reassigned to help take control of Guam, part of Japan's advance to the South a

nd East in the Pacific Ocean. The mighty Japanese Empire also took the Dutch East Indies, Wake Island, the Solomon Islands, and many other important outposts in the Pacific (Danzer et al. 579). After many successful invasions, Japan again reassigned me to help take the Philippines. The Americans knew we were going to invade this area because it would be of key importance to both the U.S. and Japan. When the Japanese army invaded, they quickly captured the three major airfields in northern Luzon (Philippines). I was one of the soldiers who landed in Luzon, but was quickly taken out of the fight when a tank that I was sleeping under to try and get out of the rain ran over both of my legs.

While I was in the hospital for my injuries, I was able to listen to the news on a small radio next to my bed. The wimpy American general, Douglas MacArthur, ordered a retreat into the Bataan Peninsula. On the 22nd, the Japanese forced the Americans to retreat to Australia (Philippines). I was so excited, I fell out of my hospital bed, giving myself a major concussion.
